It is times like these that I wish I had paid more attention during the two years I suffered through French class in high school. Amelie Chassary is a 32 year old French photographer with work and an aesthetic that I love.

I would love to give you the title of this photograph, but I don’t know what it is
(in English, or in French)
I really want to know more about her and her work, but her website and most of what I have found with her name on it is written in French. Curse my limited linguistic knowledge! I can tell you that Amelie works primarily for fashion designers and magazines, blending her skills with industry. She continues to develop personal work as well. A French Annie Leibovitz, perhaps?
From the Salomon Duval Gallery: Imaginary Characters came out of the 2009 collaboration between photographer Amelie Chassary and stylist Anthony Watson. They wanted to share their know-how and their artistic worlds. Much inspired by fashion, they know how to use it to serve an imaginary and playful world. In this series, Amélie and Anthony illustrate wishes through characters presented and costumed in accessories and clothing assembled on the spot. Full of derision or poetry, their imaginary heroes are out of synch with real time while keeping one eye on society.

such atmospheric images, great collection.
